CPAP patients who have long hair should put their hair through the back of the headgear. If hair is up in a ponytail, it should sit high enough to also fit through the headgear. This is beneficial for the headgear to stay in place and provide the best performance. 

Maintenance - ResMed AirFit F30 Full Face Mask Replacement Headgear

It is recommended to wash this headgear every week with warm water and soap. It should be completely dry before attaching it back to the mask. It is also recommended to replace this headgear every 6 months or sooner if necessary.
